Susan Harrison

Susan Harrison, MSW, LGSW, is the Executive Director for Helping Heroes, Inc.: A Center for Veteran Resources. She graduated from Edinboro University with a BA in criminal justice in 2000, where she was a scholar athlete and member of the women’s swim team.  From there she worked at the Bradley Center, followed by 3 years as a Therapeutic Staff Support at Allegheny Children’s Initiative, providing behavior interventions in schools, at home, and in the community.  While pursuing her MSW and MPA degrees, she worked for a year at the Child Care Resource Center and then as a graduate teaching assistant for the social work department for 2 years.  She completed her internship in Pittsburgh, providing individual, group and family therapy in an outpatient setting as part of a program that puts therapists in school settings. She graduated in 2005 and worked as a therapist for the Monongalia County Youth Services Center and at the Monongalia County Child Advocacy Center as the Coordinator of Interview and Community Services.  Susan has been the Executive Director of CASA for Children, INC., which serves Ohio, Marshall, Wetzel and Tyler Counties, for the past 10 years.  Susan is the fiscal manager responsible for administering federal and state grants, supervisor of volunteers and employees, and provides direct services to clients.
